A quarter of
movement.
Q2 did not slow down and it did not simplify. We closed a storefront and started asking better questions about where retail could go next. We hosted a family from New York that may become one of our most meaningful institutional partners. We went to Panama as VIP vendors and came back with something harder to measure than sales. Some quarters you build. Some quarters you scatter seeds. This one was both.
Retail
Steady ground, and one deliberate change.
Sales across Turrialba and Flamingo held at $32K for the quarter. In early May, we closed the Flamingo storefront. That decision was not reactive — it was part of a longer conversation about where physical presence actually makes sense for us. We are looking at hotel partnerships and other retail formats along the coast that put our products in front of travelers without anchoring us to a fixed lease.
Amber McNeil came back in April. She was our first intern, the one who coordinated travel for the team during Luck Reunion in Austin from 2023 to 2024. She worked the shop for nearly two months and spent a week living alongside Carolina at the Wearsos apartment. That overlap, someone who already knows how we work and why we work that way, is rarer than it sounds. We felt it.
On where retail goes next: Hotel partnerships would place our products exactly where the right travelers already are. We are not in a hurry to sign anything, but the conversations are real. We will share more as this takes shape.
Programs & Groups
The groups that reminded us why this works.
We officially launched our first Discover Corps family experience — a family of four who came for four days across the Wearsos upcycling lab, Mollejones, and the Nortico cacao farm. They left with more questions than answers, which is exactly what we want. That trip has opened a real B2B conversation: Lynne is building a deck that explains the scope of our institutional partnerships for companies exploring what meaningful engagement with a social enterprise actually looks like.
Where There Be Dragons came back. In Q1, Cathedral School students came through alongside a Pomfret group. This quarter, 18 students from Cathedral School in San Francisco returned on their own for lab visits and homestays. When a school sends a group back, it means something.
Two separate groups of solo female travelers also found us independently and came for the 1-day workshop experience — no program, no university referral. That kind of organic arrival is one of the strongest signals we track.
Confirmed Group Pipeline
The ACU Faculty trip also serves as a partnership pilot with Discover Corps. If it works, it becomes a long-term institutional relationship. We are building the model in real time.
Events & External Reach
Six places. All different. All worth it.
Q2 was the quarter the team spread out. Chris, Angela, and Luana went to Panama. Nia went to Nashville. Angela went to Toronto. Our bags showed up in Denver. Each trip had a different purpose — sales, representation, relationships — and each one landed differently than expected.
-
Panama City
Tierra Viento Fuego y Agua at the Ciudad de las Artes, where Chris, Angela, and Luana attended as VIP vendors. Sales were not the headline. What was: we visited the facilities of Simple AF, a sustainable earth-care brand and friend of Lynne's network, and had a real conversation about collaboration. We reconnected with Lexi Muller at the Biennial of the Americas — which landed differently knowing that Wearsos did a pop-up at the Biennial in San Jose two years ago, and here it was in Panama the same week we arrived. And we came away with genuine relationships with the Ministers of Culture of Panama, Trinidad, and Costa Rica. The kind of trip where the receipts are not all financial.
-
Nashville, TN
Tennessee Craft Show. Nia, our artist in residence, represented Wearsos. She has been with us since Guanacaste and is building a commission-based model with us, working out of the Turrialba store around three to four days a month.
-
Toronto, ON
SRIC Toronto Climate Week, June 2. Angela brought products to represent Wearsos. A meaningful placement in a room full of people who care about sustainability and impact.
-
Denver, CO
Outdoor Days, May 29–31. Wearsos bags activated on the ground at this outdoor and sustainability-focused event.

Nia is also the person who introduced us to NEST, an international organization that supports and certifies artisan businesses. We are working through their application process now. If it goes where we hope, it changes how we talk about our makers to an international audience.
One connection worth naming: a friend of Lynne's from Paris Beer Co came to visit with her friend Sydney for a tour and experience at the shop. She works for Eucalan, a natural organic soap company, and that visit has turned into a conversation about a planned product launch with our Vilma bag line — including wash-and-care tutorials showing how to properly clean and maintain woven Wearsos goods. Nothing signed yet, but it has real momentum and the right people behind it.
Team & Community
Who held this together.
Q2 would not have worked without people stepping up at the right moments. Dr. Yure is returning after a long stretch away to help strengthen our community-based programming. She was part of the early foundation of what Wearsos does on the ground, and having her back is not a small thing.
Angela, who has been our project intern from the University of Toronto, is finishing her placement and will leave after her Toronto Climate Week representation. Our ongoing partnership with U of T continues with another student joining in the upcoming academic year.
What comes next
The work that is already in motion.
- Drexel University, December 2026. Between 15 and 30 students confirmed. This is our largest single academic group to date and our first time working with Drexel. We are designing the program now and treating it as a template for how we bring larger university cohorts through.
- RICH's x Wearsos x Discover Corps. In conversation with the VP and her team about a 2026 group trip. If it closes in June as expected, this becomes our first fully branded corporate group experience. We think this is where the B2B model starts to click.
- The B2B deck. Lynne is building it. The E&Y family from the Discover Corps trip made the need obvious: there is a version of what we do that speaks directly to companies looking for meaningful team experiences and CSR partnerships. We are putting that story on paper.
Have something to share with us?
An idea, a question, a potential partnership. We read everything and we respond.
Send us a message →Thank you for being part of what we are building. None of Q2 happened in isolation — it happened because the network we have with you holds.
